Skoda Superb fan blower fuse missing

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My fan blower stoped  working so I looked up the fuse chart in the manual which shows 3 fuses connected to the heating/air conditioning system, all are supposed to be in the cabin board, 2 were but the 3rd labled fan blower was not there even though  the label  inside the fuseboard  cover showed the exact position ,so my question is where else can this fuse be located.

There are a bunch of fuse locations for different HVAC options/configurations so it may be that in your case there is no fuse there because it is not needed for your car. If you can post what HVAC option your car has it will help us answer your question.

Thanks for your help  I have the Climatronic (auto air conditioning  system) does this help ?

Going by the manual for the 2012 model year, fuse 22 in the dash panel fuses controls the blower for Climatronic. Fuses 16 and 40 are listed for air conditioning system also.

Looking at the wiring diagrams, fuse 4 controls one of the pressure sensors in the air-conditioning system but I don't see it causing the blower to fail. Fuse 16 controls the power supply to the Climatronic control unit. Fuse 22 controls power supply to the fan controller. Fuse 40 is listed only for the Climatic system (the manually controlled air conditioning option) so not relevant here.

So fuses 4, 16, 22 are the ones to check here. If they're all fine, I would say a fault scan with VCDS is the next step to see if the Climatronitc control module has logged any faults related to this. It could be a failure of the fan controller or the fan motor itself: both of these should show up as faults in a diagnostic scan.

Hi chimaera, all is good  with the fuses so I'll  get a diagnostic done and go from there again thanks for your help.

My blower stopped working on my L and K estate 2013.

Got a replacement from Eurocar carparts , they do two versions: One manufacturer part [Valeo] at £379.99 and one by EIS at £179.99.

I had the EIS , don't forget to input the discount code

Quite easy to fit see You tube for Octavia replacement instructions. Note do not switch on ignition to test before reconnecting AIRBAG switch, other wise you get a fault code which neds VCDS to clear

Thanks Lawlesstce

@Gregtaxi

My blower stopped working few months ago - no fuses blown but strange behaviour with windows - power spike. Gone to friendly garage - it turns out that it was dirty and seized - they clean it but forgot to grease. So it stopped about two months later again - this time just no blower - and this time they cleaned it and greased :) 6 months later - no problems at all :)

So check first if it's not just seized from being dirty.
