Facelift Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

As for the gear ratio giving faster acceleration - nope unless you are referring to 6th gear as that's the only one that changed ;)

IIRC it's probably say 10mph more top speed on the old gearbox IF you have it remapped as with standard power it will no doubt run out of steam :)

Until I see one built, I can't say for sure. But that is what Skoda have told me, so no reason to doubt it.

Fairy muff.

I would be interested to know why the 0-100 time is down by 0.1sec considering they didn't touch the first 3 gears

Hmm - odd I kept getting told 6th gear was the only one - I stand corrected :D

so 4th upward is all different. It sure uses more fuel & puts out a lot more CO2

ha althoguh it was only a facelift, my V5 says skoda fabia mark 2 VRS. mk 2??? hardly a mark 2... its an 05 btw. wonder if this years one with coloured handles will be the mk 3?!

Is there an reason for that, or just 'styling'?

Probably anti reflective finish so less reflecttion in the windscreen when the sun shines on it.

My V5 makes no mention of Mk2, and my car is a facelifted model.

Thats quite an interesting one..

Because ive got a well-sorted "old skool" furby with the leggy box, it effectively removes the power advantage... no doubt id have a higher v-max, but dont think even a tuned furby can hit it on the old box.

If you look at that chart again the new gearbox gives a higher topspeed by 2 km/h. ;)
