I have a kenwood gvn-mib1 retrofit in my VRs and up to now it’s been brilliant. I normally have it muted when not using as I have speed camera alerts on it and it’s quite annoying, but the last couple of days I have tried to use the nav and it works but there’s no sound.

 

i have made sure the mute isn’t turned on, but nothing, it shows me the route but doesn’t say anything even with the volume right up on the unit.

 

randomly this morning it did work when I turned the car on as even though it was on radio it started shouting directions at me.

 

this evening though back to no sound again.

 

anyone else had this issue? Is it something like the unit starting up in media mode?

It appears that it is fixed, when I changed some settings before on the actual box you had to unplug it to fully reset it, did that left it for 2 mins to fully power down etc and then plugged it back in and it seemed to be working straight away and every day since fine.
