Buying a new car online

Featured Replies

has anybody had any experience of buying a new car with an online company. I am thinking of using Buyanewcaronline. So far they seem very capable> i am just about to order, so would be very grateful for any opinions out there.

Sorry not an answer as never bought one that way.

So what are you looking to buy,

and when do they say they can have the car with you,

and what is this saving you over getting it from a Skoda Official Delalership?

another fabia but this time a petrol they say 3-4 monthsdelivery which is fine i am having some extras put on so not a standard se saving about 4grand

There are only going to be petrol Fabia now.

Looking forward to seeing a the Facelift and driving one, and seeing if there is any difference with the TSI with a GPF.

Having just done it, and had new car delivered 2 days ago, the process works very well

In practice, just get allocated to one of the big Skoda franchise dealers (although you wont deal with them), so car is same as coming from any dealer.

Once you make enquiry, there was initial phone call to discuss and check on finance options (they might use separate company or even another brands finance) then everything was by email.   Once the car was about to be delivered had to send a couple of docs off for identity for the finance (by recorded post, which came back 2 days later).

Make sure you check brochure and configurator online before ordering, and get the exact name of any options or packs.  The online companies may not have all the options listed, or they could be out of date on their website,  so clearly specify in other box if unsure.    You need to ensure you do not order an option that is already part of an optional pack as they will not double check for you and the online price has no validation to check for overlaps

My car was driven to me, so didn't even have to travel 100 miles to collect (but of course had that delivery run mileage on it)

Once you have the brokers price it’s a good tool to negotiate  against the dealers.

That is what I did, I'm surprised that they didn't charge me a small fee for getting me quotes from main dealers, but they do make money commission wise from supplying dealers so maybe that is enough.

Edit:- I ended up producing a Word document which essentially was a request to tender to supply a specific car to me, just placed it down in front of the salesman, he headed off to chat to someone, probably himself but out of sight to me, then came back and shook my hand, job done and money saved.

Thanks for the input. I have ordered the car. I must admit it was simple to do. So far the service I have received from Andrew at Buyanewcaronline has been very good, any. queries have been answered quickly and to my satisfaction. So I now await the arrival of the car when it’s ready.

Andrew was great when I bought my yeti in 2016 ( payed in full) the Skoda dealer then was Simpson Preston .

Do you have a copy of the word document (minus the personal details)?

I've looked and it is not where it should be, so must be on another drive, I'll dig deeper as I will not have dumped it!

I've just ordered an Octavia from Andrew.  I agree with no1storekeeper's comments about the service so far.  Discount was 24%!

Keep us informed of progress, please, no1storekeeper.

Welcome.

24% off holy smoke.

Is this on a factory build car that is coming into the UK, MY19 & WLTP approved?     Which Engine & Spec?

Yes.  1.5TSi ACT 150 GPF StopStart EU6 SE L DSG Auto7
Long lead time but I've only paid a deposit.

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules about advertising by posting this - I'm not involved with the company - just a customer.

The information is already in the public domain - see their website.

24% is not unusual at the moment - see HonestJohn's new car deals.
