Vacuum pipe 6Q2612041AL won't fit

Featured Replies

The servo vac pipe on my Fabia 1.2 developed a leak - a split on the manifold NRV end! ( Incidentally the warm air gun trick did not work as not enough pipe). I ordered another vac pipe namely 6Q2612041AL but this will not fit either! The one fitted was a 6Q2612041P which is a Polo 2002 - 2006 fitting. Brief description as follows. From the inlet manifold a rubber elbow of approx 22 mm travels vertically to the NR Valve and then horizontally to a ribbed and tapered connection. The 6Q2612041AL would fit on to this as the fitting is 12mm and horizontal but who wants two NRV's in the system? I can fit the 6Q2612041AL straight onto the inlet manifold outlet but I do not know the size of this outlet pipe - the diameter of the 6Q2612041AL inlet is 19mm outside so a suitable piece of hose would suffice. Has anyone had this problem before, and why would Skoda fit a different vac hose to the only one numbered above. I can only think that some amateur mechanic has modified the system to suit themselves, such as changing the manifold? I am now using a piece of VW braided hose between the NRV and the servo which I am sure would not pass the MoT.

The braided hose you've used will be fine, it's not inspected for an MOT, only the function of the brakes is tested so if it works, it's fixed.

Hi Guys,

Attached is quick sketch of the NRV. My Fabia was registered in December 2004 so would have missed the change in item number! Judging by rhe dimensions of the replacement assy. I think that the hose was meant to attach to the old (existing) NRV nipple. I would think that the old NRV was prone to failure hence the modification. Replacement (braided) pipe is secured with Oetiker clips.Scanned190.thumb.jpg.f36285de2524f764760d4756638ca34e.jpg
