Maybe a stupid question but can you simply fit the Laurin and klement wheels to the elegance?

 

are the L&K wheels the same as the vrs?

2006 L&K wheels are 17" (225x45) Pegasus if this helps your research.

2010 L&K Wheels are 17" Cepheus

2008 were Sputniks. Also 17" (225x45).

Mine is a 2011 elegance just fancy a slightly wider tyre, is it a simple swap or are the discs etc different 

No idea, I and others have given you the L&K wheel types, you will have to research to find fitting dimensions and compare with your current wheels.

The Sputnik wheels on my 2007 L&K are like hens teeth when it comes to trying to find second hand .... I'm not sure if they where only fitted to cars registered on an 07-58 plate as the majority of Mk2s before that have 16" wheels and the face lift from 09 got new wheels
