Skoda Octavia 2018 showing door open

Had an issue with the car dashboard showing passenger door as open when it was closed. This meant that the internal locking button would not lock the doors but locking the car from the key would lock all the doors and would still show the passenger door as open.

Managed to resolve this by opening the passenger door and rotating the locking mechanism to the locking position and releasing by pulling the door handle a couple of times. Then while the passenger door is still open, used the key lock and unlock the car a couple of times.

Now when I closed the passenger door, the door displayed as closed on the indicator. Open and closed the passenger door and now the car is registering correctly.
