Can't open the tailgate with the button

Featured Replies

Hi everybody tout le monde,

I'm driving my Fabia for 3 years without ever having any problem.

No problem... until today!

Impossible for me to open the tailgate with the button located above the licence plate.

I still can open it with a heavy click on the middle button of my 3 buttons key.
So it mean that locking system is ok.. right?

I tested the switch with a multimeter. No problem.

I thought maybe the red wire green striped is cut at the level of the hatchback hinge...  I tested. No problem.

Then I remembered that last week I tried to activate some options with my vcds 12.12

Maybe I'm at the root of my problem...

I can not remember what an unfortunate change I made.

Do you know if not being able to open the tailgate could come from a box checked or not? or if the problem is something else?

All the best

only thing I can think of is if you have activated an anti hi-jack feature... Not sure if this is possible but it might be.

...Just also remembered. Don't try spraying oil, lube, electrical contact cleaner on the tailgate button or internals at this point. This can actually ruin the part as they are very sensitive. I found out the hard way as after cleaning a fully working boot pop, I found it firing off like a machine gun and the only solution was to replace it at around £30.

Can someone give me the long code that is in  09-Central Electronics module > Coding - 07
Something like 3AB82BBF08A10000003800003C2B14900000414F60040000200000000000

Its definitely an option on the Audi, not to be able to open from the boot lever and only the remote.  The car also automatically disables the boot when a trailer is attached.

Sadly I can't tell you the VCDS, but hope the above helps a bit.

I'd agree, it does sound like a selectable option, ie leave boot locked, remember in the past when boot lids had key locks, in VW Group world, you could leave the boot always locked by turning the lock and removing the key in "the opposite" position".

Just go back into your very old and maybe not completely legal version of VCDS and find out what every BIT in the relevant  BYTE means and change the rules for the boot lock behaviour.

Today I put the code of a friend Monte BCM

and everything works now.

Everything excepted park sensors...

Hi,

Same issue. I try to apply the 12345 123 12345 solution but still the same problem.

Any idea?
