Bluetooth Audio priority?

Featured Replies

I'm delighted to say that I finally collected my first Octavia yesterday. Apart from finding out after the purchase that the passenger mirror glass was smashed and had been covered by a slightly smaller replacement mirror, I am satisfied so far.

My Bolero head unit and MFSW allows me to connect up my phone via Bluetooth, and I have made a call with good results. However, I found today that if I am using, say, Google Maps for directions, the Bluetooth audio will only come through the speakers if BT-AUDIO is specifically selected. If I have the radio on, I only hear the radio and no directions, not even through the phone speaker.

Have I missed an option somewhere or is this just the way it is? It's a bit of a change from the Parrot MKi9200 I had in my Citroen which would interrupt the radio with turn-by-turn directions.

BT-Audio  (streaming - A2DP) is only to produce the sound/music from mobile phones to the speakers via the headunit.

From the moment not using the device's maps for route directions then i think it will not interrupt the google maps from smartphone to give you handsfree calling.

The way it is unfortunately, unless I have missed something. I find it best to disable streaming on the saved bluetooth connection profile in the phone, so you still have calls coming through to the car speakers if using the radio/CD/SDcard, but map directions will use phone speakers.

yeah that way if using embended map guidance, then upon incoming/outgoing calls the speakers will turn to use the handsfree system.
