Does anyone have a clue as to the parameters that are actually measured by this mysterious bit of nonsense? Saddo that I am I have become fixated on what data it uses to give the numerical rating. Why you ask, it is because I have never seen it go above about 45.

The keyboard warriors will now be thinking he must have yellow boots, brake at the last minute and drive on the end of his bonnet; he is a closet BMW/Audi driver hiding in a Skoda. They would be wrong on all counts of course.

To me the simplest measure is achieved mpg and on that score my average, with the 220 petrol horses cantering along, is ca 36-37 over about 8000 miles. Obviously then mpg is not highly rated in the Skoda calcs.

For the record I do drive progressively using all the old grade 1 (gold) defensive driving techniques.

 

Any knowledgeable souls out there

As far as I can tell, it measures my heartbeat, probably via my buttocks.

 

So no, I don't know, don't particularly care, never look at it, prefer to look at the road and get what I need to know from the MFD, mainly speed and speed limit. Like you, for me ave mpg is a fine indicator of greenness (if there is such a word)

Mine is around 90 :blink:

You must have it in 'Audi' mode - then it measures aggression, tailgating and headlight flashes :angry:

Not me mate - I'm the one who tells Miss Daisy to slow down:D.

Only had the car 18 months and on Saturday with the wife driving I was playing with the radio and found the page showing driving data. After 430 miles we had averaged 54.5 mpg  (having checked the readings over the past 18 months they are virtually spot on) at 63 mph with a green score of 81. Its a 1.4 TSi 150.  Just about matches our most economical diesel over the same trip, a Golf TDi 90 which would average a true 57 mpg (display would say 61 mpg).

I don't bother even looking at it. It seems to be totally random.

Also note your range dropped by 45 miles after only 6 miles driving!

That proves Dr Jeff right. The more aggressive you drive, the lower the mpg, the higher the green score...or maybe not.,

 

So my buttock sensor theory blown out the water....:o

 

Maybe its like that johnny foreigner fuel consumption stuff, the lower the figure, the better it is....:thinking:....pointless even

I'm not convinced leaving it idling in the car park for 5 minutes counts Mr Adrian sir...

 

Though now I come to think about it, that's pretty much what I did for half an hour on the M32 yesterday evening:D

Haha nah my journeys are very short and local 95% of the time.  That journey wa sprobably 4-5 miles but its usually 90+

 

Ive never had it on that screen whilst driving till today when i saw this post  a couple days ago. Thought id put it up to see whats what, and looking at it, its the throttle position, so if you boot it more the score goes down.  To the left of the leaf os a dot that slides up and down the curve as u are on/off the gas. 

Don't confuse us with technical stuff....:worried:

I thank my esteemed colleague for reminding me that abstract nonsense (;)) is indeed a valid mathematical approach (it really is!). His approach has allowed me to focus on the innovative part of his study which appears to demonstrate some form of devious inverse ratio that I have not seen noted in any other academic study of similar integrity. This anomaly is further demonstrated by the example shown (Adrian 55555) where mpg is clearly of no significance in the formula buried deep in the green leaf.

 

Hopefully BJ's work will inspire others to follow through the exploration and report back at a later date. In the meantime I have a pressing appointment at the Dept of Psychology with a trusted friend who I hope will help me to move beyond the green leaf syndrome.  I hope to be back whipping my 220 horses into shape quite soon and without the terror of the green leaf appearing in front of me all the time. I think he knows how to switch it off :clap:

Shouldn't that be a Psychiatrist not a Psychologist?

 

Hopefully not a Psychopath, although some might claim a Homeopath or an Osteopath could help you.

My 220 petrol estate has done 12k miles at an average of 33.5mpg, but is nearly always over 90% green score. Probably average 50 mph. So car doesn't seem very efficient even using eco on the motorway, and green score is a pile of horse manure.
