SEAT Tarraco

Featured Replies

@ 12 years a Volvo can become a liability, even a low mileage one. Maybe first the Alarm Siren needing replaced, no big deal, then alarm / imobiliser issues and the car not starting, then the barrel for the key needing replaced but that has security bolts and the barrel, keys and security bolts are £600.

If you have a good mechanic you can weld to the originals and remove them without dismantling and removing the dash if you protect it and the electrics.

Ones that have no issues can run for ever and ones that have little issues can end up getting scrapped.

Not so bad if you have one after Ford owned Volvo though.

  • It would have been better if you'd merged this one with the other, it had Tarraco spelt correctly

  • Therefore a wise man buys a saloon or estate with much higher discounts to be had

  • People also buy what advertising tells them to. Never ceases to amaze me, but it must be true.

I wouldn’t mind simply being able to see the engine again. 240, 504 etc

The instrument panel sure is conventional........reminds me of a 505 of the early 80s.

As a heads up to those following this topic, we have two tarraco topics in progress. So I'm merging as I could of sworn I'd replied to it ;) I did on 'ther one.

One has to take things a step at a time some days. I edited the title spelling after it was pointed out.

Was far easier when car names were 'normal', or numbers ;)

Off for a lie down now :D

Over £36,000 before you get one with DSG and then it comes on 19" alloys!  It does have AWD though, just find good tyres for the 19's or get a set of 18's.

Over £38,000 for AWD / DSG that comes with Winter Pack and that comes on 20" rims.

They are having a giraffe.

Gets very expensive very quickly. Didn’t expect that. Looks like it’s back to the Kodiaq.

Need to to look carefully at the entry level one as that price is not too bad.

The first edition ones look decent as well if you don’t mind a manual.

Basically, everyone saying what's the point and does it do anything better/different than the Kodiaq, with starting at 28,000 for a manual 1.5 TSI seems the KOdiaq is still better value for money

What do you reckon?

We had an interesting day test driving the Tarraco today through London and a bit of M4 for about 3 hours. It was a 190 TsI 4drive DSG excellence. Not the engine and gear box I ordered but gave me a fair impression of the car.
It’s a good car but not amazing but that’s to be expected at that price point. First impression was it is Not as big a I imagined from the pictures. The 3rd row really is just for children. The car is same width as the Ateca just a bit longer. The boot is shallower but longer than the Ateca.
Wind Noise insulation is good both in town and motorway but on the 20 inch rims the road noise is there. It’s not softly sprung like the Kodiaq. Steering is quite direct. One turn of the wheel in either direction for full lock.
The tech however is flawless. The LED lights and bulbs everywhere are great. Interior ambient lighting is plush.
Seats could be more comfy. Somehow I couldn’t get fully relaxed. Will need to work out a good driving position.
Any other questions please let me know and I will try to answer

The Tarraco is now a very real alternative to the Kodiaq.
