Has the dealer changed my service schedule?

Featured Replies

I've just had my superb serviced for the first time at 18500 miles and about 18 months. This car is on variable service. Looking at the display it says that an inspection is now due in 360 days. Is this correct? Why isn't it still the 2 yrs it said on the display when I bought the car?  Has the dealer changed my service scedule? Thoughts are appreciated.

Could be MOT (early) or brake fluid or coolant perhaps?

No Felis. The dates for these are detailed separately in the paperwork. March 2020 for the MOT.

If you look at your photo it has a service due in 18500 miles or 725 days.

But there are some things that want inspecting after a certain time period.

Eg brake fluid at three year old.

If you were on fixed servicing then you might find that the inspection can be done at the same time as the service.

At the minute if you left the inspection until the next service you could be over time for these checks.

The car wont know when an MOT is due.

You've probably just had an oil service and not an inspection service which is why it's due in 360 days or 19900 miles but the oil isn't due until 725 days

Myself I must admit as I keep my cars a long time I always have it set to 10,000 miles/annual fixed interval servicing.

My variable (S II) did not not reset for several days after my service but it did in the end.

Thanks for the replies all.  When I booked the car in, I explained that the inspection and oil service were both due within a few hundred miles so I asked for both to be done. On my service paperwork it was detailed as an inspection with oil change but I've been charged £203 so neither of the standard costs for servicing.

I'm convinced they've got it wrong. But, thinking about it, as it's on lease, I will need 1 inspection, 1 oil service and 1 brake fluid service over the term so it should work out the same.
