Can I fit 4 18” tyres in Octavia estate boot?

Featured Replies

As the topic asks. Can I fit 4 18” tyres in Octavia estate boot?

I don't think the internal diameter makes much difference. I'll be the tyre dimensions that are more important ;)

My MK2 hatch took four 205/55 16's under the parcel shelf without issue so I'd be surprised if you had any problems in an estate with a roughly equivalent tyre size.

They fit in my hatch O3!

I have a s3 superb and just fit 4 18s in my boot, they were 235s, which 4 side by side stood up they just fit. My boot is a tad over 1m!  But as you have an estate u have more height so i dont see a problem.

This is how they looked in mine. Hatch closed fine and used a ratchet strap on the rear tie downs to hold in place so they didnt roll onto the glass! :D

@Iamholam, easily. Proof attached:

On the photo are 19". There is enough room for quite a wider tire, my guess that 245 would have fitted too.

Without doubt.

I’ve had 32 rolls of turf from BQ in the boot of mine, albeit minus the load cover.

4 x 225/35/19" tyres/wheels  fit in the boot of my MKIII Hatch so I'm going to say Yes

Presumably we are talking without folding the back seats?

I guess so otherwise u wouldnt even doubt it lol esp on an estate!

Yeah they fitted in my hatch, you'll need some cardboard inbetween them to stop them rubbing.

Have to take the parcel shelf out though

Easily. As above, use something to stop them moving about and rubbing.

Yes, they fit vertically one next to each other. But you need to remove top cover.

Top cover has a special shape and can be vertically put on the back of the trunk. Round shape goes up, of course, flat to the bottom.

With all 4 tires in the trunk, you still have plenty of space in the trunk. I was driving 4 tires for 10 days in the back. Had to rid of them when I got sick of the smell of fresh new rubber.

Don't you just love the smell of rubber.......................

Just to close this off. 225/40/18 rubber in the back of my estate. If anything there is too much space and needed a better solution to stop them rolling about.

I used a ratchet strap on the rear tie down points. Pic is further up ib my 1st post. Stops them rolling about, mainly not against the rear glass
