DSG remap?

Featured Replies

Has anyone gone down the route of a DSG remap? I’ve had my 190 S3 superb a few weeks now and while I love it I do agree with others on here that the throttle response is a bit lacking! I’ve done the ‘Audi’ mod via VCDS which has made it slightly better but from what I’ve read so far a pedal box is the way to go. A friend with an RS3 suggested a DSG remap by someone like MRC might be a better option. Anyone care to weigh in?

I dsg remap will invalidate your warranty on the dsg box and possibly drive train. so i would be careful with that.  A pedal box is plug and play and if hidden well or removed prior to dealer visits it wont invalidate the warranty.

I had a DSG tune on my mk2 Octavia RS, which has the same 6-speed dsg in the mk3 Superb.

I would highly recommend it.  It improves the drive in all modes, and improves the clutch life.  So much more fun to drive too.

I had it for 5 years with no issues.  No warranty problems, or drivetrain issues.

I'm going to get the tune on my Superb in the near future.

Checkout the TCU+ from DtUK, they have a plug and play Dongle which remaps the gearbox, there's info on a thread on the site, their remap, like their tuning boxes is undetectable by dealers and is getting rave reviews.

Sounds good. When you say it improves the drive can you be more specific? Is it more intelligent with deciding on shift points? Does it also solve the throttle response issue? If I get it done I’d most likely get an engine remap at the same time. I’ve had a bluefin on my mondeo ST TDCI for 7 years which really improved the drive. Not hugely in outright performance but it really widened the usable power and torque across the Rev range.

I can't comment on the throttle response aspect as I did not have the lag in my mk2 RS.

I won't b surprised if it does on the mk3 Superb.

The tune does the following:-

- Optimised D mode shift program

- Optimised S mode shift program

- Reduction of unnecessary downshifts

- Increased shifting speed

- Raised maximum shifting RPM to accommodate engine tuning

- Improved clutch clamping force capable of up to 500nm

- Torque limit increased
