Given current discounts are between 10-20% the 3% extra vehicle tax is the difference between an OK deal and a good deal.

 

If I wanted a vRS I wouldn't be letting the vehicle tax overly-influence my decision.

It's actually £450 per year from years 2 - 6


So first year road tax included in the on the road price, could be approx 1000£ not sure on these.

then 5x£450 

 

But your point is valid, I am just correcting the facts, and I suppose it depends 'how' the car is purchased

Cheap Lease deals for Skoda to have them in the dealership a few days then on the roads, and those rushing to get those good deals.  

Then some Media cars for the mags, and the Dealership Demonstrators. Principal Dealer.

Do you not think that when any new car is released there is more orders to begin with? Not sure, I though this is the case.

I know how many orders that Dealerships put in and how many customers are waiting to order for different cars, 

and how many Skoda UK try to get to Fleet etc.

 

Manufacturers never want 'New Cars' looking like a flop by the 2nd quarter they are on sale.

VW, Audi, Skoda, SEAT are well known as others are, just get them First Registered. 

Make it look like demand outstrips supply.

 

Difference this year there is demand outstripping supply and not just for Halo Models.

 

I know that Audi want the New EV ordered online with as deposit paid in advance as that is the TESLA way.

Under £40K (diesel) = 1x £515 + 5x £140 = £1,215

A difference of £1,485 over 6 years (or 3.7% of the £40K list).

That applies to every car over £40k - all of them pay £1,550 extra over years 2-6 as it's a flat rate

The Skoda screen grab is dated, the first year for band I has gone up to £515.

 

The first year for cars over £40K is actually less than those under £40K (£515 vs. £450).

OK, I stand corrected , I didnt know it went up

 

Why is it less for under 40? I though the first year was emissions based and then after based on list price

I guess either way, the cost upper from the higher VED is most relevant at this price bracket. As you get into VW Toureg, Audi Q5 territory etc. then it becomes less of a factor.

 

Let's see what Skoda do when they announce their pricing for the vRS :sweat:

Not sure, this is from https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables, I might be reading it wrong...

yes, from year 2-6 - flat rate for all cars. (as it says: You only have to pay this rate for 5 years from the second time the vehicle is taxed) and then it goes down to £140 from year 7

 

the skoda screengrab you posted  is the first year payment (minus the new updated price)

Who knows, I dont' think Skoda care anymore, since they removed the 22K base Kodiaq and made the startign price 28K.


Bear in mind there  will be a 7 seater option as well so possibly the basic one will creep under 40K but everything else definitely over

no, the first year is 515£ based on emissions band if it meets the RDE2 standard which the dealer pays when they register and tax the car, this is included in the on the road price.

 

The first year tax payment does NOT take into account the list price of the car.

 

Subsequent payments from years 2 -6 are base don list price. Under 40K £140 and over 40K £450

Fully loaded Tiguan Alltrack costs the same amount here. Why should I choose Skoda over VW?

Tiguan's interior quality is rubbish to the Kodiaq, and the boot is much better designed in the Skoda.

HUD, Dynamic LED-s, all assists, ACC, 3 zone climatronic, virtual pedal, heated windscreen and seats, adaptive chassis, KESSY - all included in VW, but as option in Skoda.

I really doubt in this. Never seen Skoda with better interior quality than VW.

This could never happen as Skoda is stated as cheaper model than VW in VAG group.
