I have a 2005 Octavia Elegance that I would like to retrofit Automatic headlights to.

 

I've read that if the car has Auto Wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror, that this can be done.

 

Is this an easy task to carry out and what would I need to do this?

 

Are there any step by step guides?

 

Any help would be much appreciated!

I am in the process of doing this on a 2006 Elegance, switch ordered waiting for delivery, I got all the info I believe is needed from this forum but via a google search. Might have been some stuff on the Golf MK5 forum

 

You need the switch with the extra auto setting, the light sensor which you already have and 10 wires into the connector for the switch, if like me you have 9  then you need to add a wire from the switch to ????????????,  the what and where is the only bit I am currently unsure of but I'm sure it will become clear when I start work.

 

I think also a re-code with VCDS, I am going from memory and not experience so check the other threads from those who have done the job.
