Dtuk box Causing epc light and limp mode.

Featured Replies

Hello

I am on my second dtuk fsr+ box. The first one caused constant epc lights and limp mode. Spoke to Andrew at dtuk and He requested I sent it back. Recieved a replacement straight away.

Now after two months the same problem has come back with the new box. Soon as i put the blanking plug on i never recieve any problems, so I quess this rules out the wiring loom?.

What do you guys think should be my next step.

Many thanks in advance

What settings have you got it on?

I have tried 2+2, 1+2 and 1 +1. All settings bring epc light. Almost like the car judders  a little bit after a couple minutes of driving. Could bad fuel be causing the issue? But as soon as box removed the car is fine.

I dont know about Petrol but it seems the diesel is alot more robust. I have to push very hard in x+2 or x+3 to get any lights.

what are the errors showing up as in VCDS? low pressure on the rail etc? it could be a very sensitive sensor on the air or fuel?

As JohnnyType2 said, see if you can get a scan on vcds or obd11, that would be a start I guess

Yeah I've had this cold start juddler issue before, went after a software update from Skoda but, returned recently however, I don't get EPC light

Could a boost leak be causing this? Or bad fuel Maybe. Seems to only happen at low revs with the box installed. Last night I reinstalled the box and went for a spirited drive and no problems occurred. The setting I used was just the standard of the program 2. Not sure why I get the epc light sometimes.

Yeah low revs on cold engine for me usually, when the wife is in the car !!!

I'm only running Vpower nowdays so I can't think it's fuel, had the problem previously with OEM air intake & now with a big Revo cone setup so, I don't think it's a boost leak.

Are you now on the App controlled version of the tuningbox ?

I'm still on the version before, maybe a software upgrade would help? But my car is out of warranty now so if I was going to do that maybe a proper map would be better ?

When I had my previous box, I'm pretty certain It was boost errors, i will have to get it plugged in again to check. I thought the sensors only plug into camshaft, upper boost and lower boost? On the fsr+ box. Could this cause low pressure on the rail then? Just the problem is resovled with the box completely removed.
