I've been looking for a mk1 estate tailgate in magic black and found one with a breaker on gumtree / facebook / ebay in Salford by the name of Garry S (Number Removed). We agreed a price and a collection date (this Thursday) and he confirmed her would hold it for me and didn't want a deposit.  He was also very coy about giving out his actual address "until the day of collection" so maybe I should have seen the problem coming.

 

Anyway, I tried to confirm pickup today and he said it's sold elsewhere.

 

Treat with caution!
