Virtual pedal

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise whether the VP is an option or standard on Superbs?

I have recently acquired a 67 plate and despite trying all the suggested foot movements, I cannot get it to work (if indeed it is there).

The boot otherwise works okay with key fob and button on hatch.

Thanks

It’s standard on the higher trim level cars and an option on the others, what trim level do you have?

IIRC there is also an option to turn it on and off in the infotainment.

L&K model. Didn't find anything on the screen but I'll look again. Thanks.

The VP has been problematic in many S3. Maybe you need a dealer visit to check it. OR try do the 'hokey, cokey' by putting your foot in and then out but without the waving about. As soon as your foot is out from under, step back away from the car and wait a few seconds. That's how I got my first S3 to work; the current one is much more sensitive but still doesn't like the foot wagging approach.

It's in Car - Settings - Opening and Closing. As Sagalout says, it can take a few tries to work out the best way to get it to work. For me it is a slow straight kick, then step back. It can take a second or two to start to open, so be patient with it.

Tried that directory. Nothing I could see other than doors all/single/side opening and windows functions.

Maybe it's not a fitted option?

This is what mine shows, just for comparison. I understand it's the "easy open" that controls the virtual pedal, but happy to be corrected.

I understood the VP is standard on L&K, but I got mine ex-demo so can't confirm. I did have a quick look at the spec sheet, but couldn't find an obvious mention of the VP.

Thanks for that. I see that option too. It is also ticked on my menu.

Oh well, a trip to the local dealer...

Mine failed after about a year and never worked again.  Dealer fitted Tiguan parts, case passed to Škoda UK and nothing ever came back and no solution.  Car long since sent back - someone on here may have it now as there aren’t many Rosso Brunello S3 LnK Estates about.

And so it worked ONCE today in a supermarket car park. I got home and demonstrated to eldest son.....nothing!:envy:

i know easier said than done, but remove the rear diffusor and check if the two sensor strips are positioned as per the pics below.

essentially when ur foot crosses/breaks the two sensors, it will trigger the virtual pedal - hence the kick motion.

below is how the strips are positioned, when viewed using x-ray vision.......
