Mystery "OFF" button

Featured Replies

One of my kids spotted this button - it's on the central pillar between the front and back door on the drivers side.  A little black button that says "OFF" and a tiny picure of something that I can't make out.

I'm scared to press it.....  what does it turn off?

This turns off the internal alarm sensors - ideal for times when you leave an animal or child in the car but want to lock it.

Or when you are on a ferry and the car will be moving when locked.

VAG cars have had them for at least 18 years

I wish I'd read this before our last ferry ride! Our alarm went off and I couldn't understand why. We so rarely get on a ferry, I will have forgotten this by the next time.

Exept now in their wisdom they’ve decided to make you fathom about in the head unit menus to disable the internal sensors rather than have a handy button.

Luckily the pushing of the lock button twice on the remote trick still works.

I thought it might have been a opposite thread to the Fabia MK I famous  question.
