Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have a Skoda Octavia 2003 . 4x4 with Haldex rear end diff . This unit dont work. Front weels spinning but rear end dead . No warning lights appears . . The main shaft is turning , the fuse is ok. Is any common issues in this unit that I should begin to check ? Thanks Valli in the snow in Iceland ...

For some reason a dead Haldex will not bring the EML on but there will be codes if you get it scanned.

It could be a dead pre-charge pump, its worth checking the electrical connector for water ingress as well.

How long has it been faulty for, is this a new fault or have you just figured it out/bought the car?

Plug in suitable diagnostics and see if there is communication with the Haldex controller.

@Valgeir - Do you have paperwork for a Haldex oil change? I can't remember the intervals but this should be replaced every few years and isn't in the schedule book!

Gen 1 Haldex was oil every 20K and filter every 40K, at least in the Audi service book

Chances are this Haldex has been dead for a long time as the average Joe would not notice, and even if they did, would they care to spend money and fix it?
