Washer fluid leak

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Topping up the washer fluid today I discovered that it started dripping out of the drivers side wheel arch onto the tyre/wheel.

Noticed there is a tank housed in the wing and no doubt something has become loose or dislodged.

Not attempted to resolve yet as it looks tight for space and not very accessible.

Anyone had the same problem and fixed it themselves or is it best leaving to the dealers under warranty?

Cheers in advance.

Sorry if it's a daft question but you didn't  spill or overfill it did you? I did once (overfilled when not concentrating) and the overspill came out in that area. If not, how much are you losing? Is the warning light on? I agree it is tight around there and wouldn't want to do any work in there myself.

I just kept pouring it in.:D

To be honest I didn’t know it had an overspill feature.

I was just filling expecting the tank to be brimming/overflowing like the Octavia used to.

No warning light on and only a very small stream that turned to droplets after a few moments.

Maybe it’s like you said then.

Not sure there is an overspill feature - mine overflowed the top of the filler cap while I stood there looking in the opposite direction:blink:. I'd refill to the level of the filter then leave it for a while and check again.
