I fitted a couple of these into the front interior light this evening, based entirely on your recommendation! Theres been a few horror stories recently about bowiing tracks off circuit boards due to shorting out the 12v with the wrong kinds of housings on LEDs. These ones were perfect, Ive ordered some more for the rear, the glove box and the boot. I may or may not fit them, Im usong my My16 as a practice run for my My19 turning up! Thanks for the recommendation and the link, Ive not been able to find them cheaper anywhere else and they look great!

Any chance of a pic? I’m tempted by the Osram as they are a known brand with some recourse if they damage the car.

Hi, these are the poor photos I have. I put one in the wrong way round and had to rotate it to get it to work. I'll take a photo looking from outside in tomorrow.

Thanks for that, do the new bulbs dim okay? I know some struggle and strobe slightly whilst dimming when locked and unlocked

No problems dimming at all, just fade out like the srandard filament ones did. These are from a decent manufacturer and are £10 for two, I'd imagine a lot of problems are down to people chasing the bottom line for LEDs from china on 30 day delivery for 3 quid.

Comparison of the front with LED vs the rear with filament...

Just ordered some from EBay, they have 10% off all orders over £20 today. Worked out £22 for 6.

Good work @Maverick567 where are you putting them?

Im going to do the boot today (x2), the glovebox (x1) and the rears (x3). Destroyed internal fittings incoming!

Going to do fronts, rears and glovebox. Thinking I may do the SuperSkoda for boot or the more powerful Osrams

I'll let you know how the boot looks, I'll likely go for the suoerskoda stuff for my next VRS in the new year!

Ok so Ive just done the rears, the boot and the glovebox. Very easy, nice little job. Ive got some tips for you. First, when you put the LEDs in the interior lights, fit them with the red dot on the back of the LED facing the front of the car. This is the correct polarity. Also when doing the boot and glovebox fit the LED so that the writing that says '50' on the LED is facing down.

I found a small trim tool to be very useful. Theres a video on the forum somewhere about doing the rears but its not right, it shows the whole unit coming out of the roof lining and a cable being disconnected. In mine it was just the black trim that needed to come off, it is held by push in clips around the clear section in the middle.

If I get some time when theres daylight again I might do a quick youtube tutorial video.

My next step is getting the balls to take my mirrors apart. I need to see about replacing the puddle lights and I want to take my black covers off and put the unused white ones back on! It involves pulling the mirror glass out first which is the bit thats scaring me!

It was a bit scary for the first time, like many things are.

Thanks for that! Ive seen a videoof removal but with no description. Im not worried about the strip down, Im an ex instrument engineer but the mirror glass bit had me worried. Good bit of info there though, excellent

Ok so its dark and Ive had a look at the boot lights with the LEDs. Its better but because the LEDs are side-on its not as bright as the internals. I'll defo be going for the superskoda ones for my MY19 VRS!

I used these Osram bulbs

You can do the whole interior with them - two in the front, three in the back, two in the boot and one in the glovebox

Thank you for the recommendation, I just replaced the 2 lights in the boot with these Osram LED bulbs and they're great.

Ive been worrying about it for so long, yet its such an easy satisfying job to do!!

Hi, guys!

Thought I'd share mine.

Got the ones from Superskoda and they are worlds apart from the stock ones.

OOT, I have posted pics of the door safety light.

Hope this helps those considering the change.
