Featured Replies

hey folks, i saw the 'introduce yourself' link and thought what the hell!

i have bought a new MkII model Octavia vRS, which hopefully i will take delivery of "mid April", according to the dealer.

however, i may well be offshore when it comes, not good.....

hopefully i will get a chance to tell you all how awesome it is after i get it!!

Hello and welcome.

Andy in Mainland UK :)

I'll wave to you from brid harbour.

Welcome Brooner from further north. what colour of Octavia? Would the dealer be Specialist Cars by any chance? I ask as my car is being supplied my them via a local Independent dealer.

Hello and Welcome:D

Thanks for the warm welcome

It is Diamond Silver (stayed with the standard 17" alloys, living in the country on a farm, need all the tyre profile i can get!!). Also getting Maxidot, rear parking sensors, duel zone pack, curtain airbags and active headrests (and be too safe with all these nutters on the A96!!)

Yes indeed, the car is coming from Specialist Cars in Aberdeen. Having seen the prices on the net for the vRS, i think i am not getting it as cheaply as i could.

However it is my first brand spanking new car (and the second car i have owned, excluding models and RC cars), so i am not too bothered.

Erm, Aberdeen is not in the Lowlands of central Scotland im afraid. Its the North East.

Central Scotland is an hour and a half away (at legal speeds anyway)

But thanks for the welcome and the waving smiley!!:D

Welcome. Nice choice of vehicle

I'm up in Aberdeen next week. Really looking forward to the twin-prop flight from Teesside. Don't do offshore though - yet :)

D'OH!!! sorry, my mistake.

Jimmy,

im sure you are REALLY looking fwd to a flight from Teeside to Abz. Did it once in my last job. i dont like the small planes, these days if it doesnt have turbines then im not interested.

Lucky then that Super Puma's have two turbines, though they are twin props.......sort of.

Must have a winge on Eurocopters choice of name for it, Super Puma. Trust me, they arent so super.

im told they are rattely things. apparently years ago when they had flight attendants, you would get a 'shot' of coffee to drink, purely because if they put any more in, it would shoogle out and end up in your lap!!

flying in a chinook would be a big problem out here, no hills to crash into (but thats pilot error according to the RAF.....)
