A braking question, probably an easy answer...

Featured Replies

My rear brakes are gone, pads are pretty much shot as are the brakes.

My front discs & pads however are in excellent condition.

You see where this is going.... :D

Since I could fit a 312mm setup on the front which comes with new carriers/callipers, is it such a hard job to just put the older 288mm front discs onto the back as I could transfer the callipers/carriers from that setup to the rear?

Thanks, and apologies for the newbie question. What exactly is it that will hinder me in doing this?

Different fitment on the hubs and the calipers wouldn't connect to the handbrake.

ok thanks.

But you could go for the 256mm vented setup from a octy vrs.

fabroka, i need to change the rear discs/pads on my vrs anyway. can i just buy the octavia rear discs/pads and it'll fit straight away or will i need the carriers/callipers from my 288 front setup?

how much?

You need the complete rear set up for it to kit, pads, discs, carriers, calipers etc.

Its been covered before, front brakes will not work on the rear full stop.
