Intercooler hose come off

Featured Replies

Hi all, as above I was driving home just cruising down the M3 on my way home at about 60-70 I heard a pop lost power and got a lot of black smoke out the back, pulled over waited for the AA they looked at it and found the 90 degree hose coming out the bottom of the intercooler had come off because the lugs had worn, I now need a new hose and as I’m looking to upgrade the performance of the car in the future so would be going for a front mount in the but being Christmas it’s not the right time so can someone help me find a cheap replacement

Haha it’s meant to be in the future

Not sure about a cheap replacement, however this happened to me accelerating out of a fuel station onto a dual carriage way... all a bit embarrassing. Mine was the pipe going into the top of the intercooler, from the plastic hard pipe. Fortunately I managed to make it to a TPS dealer who had the pipe in stock!! Cost around £40. I’m sure the pipes could be found cheaper on eBay, but that sorted me as an instant fix.

Self-tappers are the quickest fix until you figure out about mounting the front bottom or whatever it was you said..
