So. Got the car back today. Spark plugs and leads changed. Car has ran totally fine since picking it up. 

 

No rattle when stationary and no stuttering in gear. Fingers crossed it stays that way

That will remain to be seen, I may get Skoda to look at it to see, would they be able to see if the actuator is on its way out our is it a case of once it goes bang you know, my 3 months warranty has been reset from today's date too so if it's as you say then would hopefully raise its head in that time frame

Impossible to check actuator problems until they actually happen.

You have 6 months by law as I stated earlier if this issue reoccurs.
