Did a favour for a friend yesterday and transported her 3 year old to a party as daddy was poorly. She then vomited half a pint of yuk over the front seat backs, carpet and into the centre console. On the drive back home the vomit was sloshing round in the centre console. This is a problem I haven't come across for a long time. Initial scoop and scrape is done, plastics out and cleaned. Rear seats and passenger seat out and part cleaned. The interior of the car reeks and I can only drive with the window open even in its part stripped state.

Question. How to clean the carpet and seat backs.  Is there some magic stuff to use that's good for vomit in carpet? Would a trip to the local carwash/valet peeps work. I'm imagining those dual wash/vacuum machines offer the only hope. (Or a new carpet!)

if you’ve got a steam cleaner I’d give it a go with that first 

try g101 from autosmart. Dilute it, don't use it neat. Awesome apc

All done. Local garage forecourt east european cleaners did it for £20 which was a bargain IMO. Smells sweet again. Just need it to stop raining so I can reassemble the interior. They did say it was easy (with their spray/suck cleaner) as all the carpet was easily accessible with seat and plastics out. Suprising how much had dribbled down through the handbrake lever slot!

Really grim but useful to know!!
