Hi guys and girls,

Here's my project car that is a 2016 Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo with 1.2 TSI 90HP and DSG.

Ordered with:

DAB+

Trailer hitch

Side trim in car color

17 inch summer wheels

Very pleased with the car, but it needs lowering.

At Autobahn speeds it is a bit nervous if there is side-wind.

Highest speed on Autobahn is 229Km/h in a long downhill in 7th gear.

Mods to date:

Led inside and some places outside. Hard to find H15 LED bulbs that actually works.

Power Deck from v-tuning that gave 125HP and 223NM. Check link for graph and pictures.

New honeycomb grille from Maxton Design in Poland.

Eyebrows from SuperSkoda.com that were delivered painted and ready to mount.

Black emblems from SuperSkoda.com.

Rear bumper protection from Superskoda.com

Here are some pictures.

Thanks Jme89.

Yes, it just popped out of the factory grille, and snapped into place on the new grille.

Mind you it was around 33 degrees celcius, and the plastic was very soft.

Swapping the grille took me 15 minutes.   Changing emblems took 2 hours..

Upcoming mods are:   (in no particular order)

Lowering kit, not going for springs only.

H&R anti sway bars.

Big brake kit, will require 17 inch wheels minimum...

Turbo-back exhaust with sport catalyzer..

Forge Motorsport intake & boost pipe.

2018 Rapid Monte Carlo LED head- and taillights.

18 Inch lightweight wheels for summer use.

Amplifier upgrade/install for the ICE.

Possibly speaker upgrade with seat shakers.

No time frame on any of this, but I hope to have everything done before 2021.

On a side note, it seems that the 2019 VW Polo GTi engine and transmission fits into the Rapid without much work... Hmm.

Looks ace, did u fit the black grille surround yourself? Im having difficulty doing mine?!

I had to completely obliterate mine to get it off and get a few cuts into the bargain but it was worth it.

You need to undo the screws along the top first then there are clips near the bottom of the lights that come out as well so that you can pull everything out further to get into it

I have also researched into polo gti engine swap, and after reading up on it and trying to find as much information as I can I have come to the conclusion that it can be done but I do t have enough money, if you actually go for it I’d love to see your progress
