My MY17 didn't show this screen, but every time I get in the car now, it shows me it.

Its the same 3 pot engine that you will find on most euro-boxes these days....manufactures don't like re-inventing the wheel, so yes, its the exact same unit.  The engines have massively improved since their inception, but I still aware that it is a smaller engine.  My perspective is that we've owned a Suzuki Alto (with a 90hp version of the unit), and it started causing issues at 20k miles.  I know the VAG units use better parts (quality) and oils - and that the engine internals will be better because it has a turbo bolted onto it, but its still the same engine block unit from 2006....

Eh - the only thing in common between these engines is the fact they have 3 cylinders.

The 1.0 in the Octavia is a turbo charged direct injection version of the VW Audi Group EA211 cam belt engine and has nothing to do with the PSA engine in any way or form. Unlike some other engines the 3 cylinder has been designed to minimise vibrations without the use of the dreaded balace shaft/module that has been troublesome in many other engines.

In that case, I stand corrected. I was always under the apprehension that it was the same derived unit from PSA so I appreciate the correction.
