Fabia Monte Carlo Belly Pan

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Another request before an MOT for our 2011 Fabia ( Monte Carlo 1.2 TSi).

After an argument with a curb in an unlit carpark, we need a new belly pan for the car as the original is cracked in two. We are told that it is an MOT failure so I want to source the part myself and fit it before the MOT to save a few quid. I cant seem to find the part number after some searches online, can anyone help in regards to the OE part number?

Also, does anyone have experience of non OE parts in this regard, as it's a non mechanical part I figure I may be able to save a few quid by ordering an ebay special?

?

Is it the Oil Pan / Sump that you need?   Is the engine oil leaking out?

No, not an oil/sump pan, its the plastic belly pan/undertray/guard/cover that protects the underside of the engine from scrapes such as the one the car has had.

I was dubious as to whether it was an MOT fail. My usual garage have yet to see it, my wife had the car at the time it was damaged and it was KwikFit across the road from the carpark (that helped remove the damaged part) that suggested it was an MOT failure without the guard.

It is not a MOT fail if you take it off.    MOT's say'  'could not inspect because of cover'  or such type things when there are covers.

If you want just go to a Salvage yard seller/  Ebay / Gumtree seller and buy one.

?

Have you priced one from a Dealership / Parts desk?

PS

You would never want to be taking a car to a 'Kwik Fit' that does MOT's.

I would never go to a 'Kwik Fit'  to use the toilets, but for removing broken parts they might be OK.

They should know how to, they break plenty, or fail to refit the likes of Sump Guard / Undertrays often enough.

In total agreement about Kwik fit.

Although that said, my wife was struggling at the time as the guard was stuck absolutely fast on the curb, the Kwik fit was just across the road and to their credit they helped her get the car off the curb without tearing the bumper mountings as it was properly stuck, they then took the guard off as it was split down the middle and dragging.

So fair play to them....albeit that they gave her incorrect information on the MOT fail!

Almost certainly not an MOT failure.

Would be one of the Item 1's here, I think, depending on exact manufacture date: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2011-697/8/825-825010/

Part number on the existing one should be reasonably easy to find during removal.

Cheers, I had my suspicions.

It's the front section on that diagram. I'll try Ebay and local scrappers as well now. Much appreciated

Bizarrely, there's one on ebay priced at £1000. What's that all about? :wondering:

It won’t fail the mot mine hasn’t had one fitted since the intercooler as we couldn’t get it back on.

Can affect stabality at 140+mph interestingly enough.

I have a feeling I wont be affected by that particular issue :)
