heated mirror

Featured Replies

If I leave the heated mirror open for the whole winter, there is a possibility of burning.

I presume when you say "open" you mean "switched on" and heated mirror you mean rear window (or door mirrors?) ... you can't the system automatically switches off after a few minutes

^^^ Just like the rear screen heater, that cuts off as a safety feature.

You can code it (or Carista it) so the hot mirrors work off the heated rear window switch too.

i say for the mirror heater my friend , if I forget the heating of the mirror open, it will be destroyed or it will shut itself off on its own.

You need Carista, OBDEleven or VCDS.

Carista is the cheapest and simplest option, I believe

It  allows a limited amount of vehicle customisation, as well as full diagnostics.

I don't think there is enough heat to burn out, so to speak, particularly in the winter. It may shorten the elements life, with fair wear and tear though. It will also contribute to flattening the battery over time.
