Black Edition or a Colour Edition help?

Featured Replies

On the verge of buying my first second hand 2015/16 Skoda Citigo but I am unsure which is the better option - a Black Edition or a Colour edition? What would be the main differences on each cars standard spec? Skoda are unable to provide me with this or a brochure from 2015 which shows the Black Edition Spec! It looks like the radio may possibly be an update on the colour edition? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Looking on auto trader it looks as though black edition was pre facelift whereas colour edition is post facelift.

The advantages / updates for the colour edition over the black edition are as followed:

  • LED DRLs
  • Colour radio Bluetooth integration
  • phone cradle

Can’t think of owt else atm that’s different

Cheers for that, Yeah, it seems like a much better radio and the PID unit has been dropped in lieu of the phone cradle. Some are saying the the PID wasn't as good as a smart phone in the cradle anyway

Depends what phone you have, the app has afew annoying glitches that I don’t think have been sorted after atleast 2 years of knowing about them.

You can however use the UP!  Version which, as far as I know, is glitch-free.

Cheers for that Jonny18118

I’ve been using the app on my iPhone 6s for the last 18 months, it is glitch free, and works very well, especially the fuel computer aspect. The sat Nav is ok, but I’ve found by loading a stand-alone sat Nav app ‘Here we go’ far better.

I've got the colour edition and have to say the upgraded stereo/phone app combo is terribly clunky to use compared to the entertainment systems in most rivals, I'd rather have the dedicated PID from the older Citigo.

Cheers for the advice SteveJP & Miller73. I guess it's just that some say you have to keep removing the PID when parking in case it gets stolen, however not sure if that would tempt a thief. Is the cradle on the Colour/Black edition big enough to take the "plus" size smart phones?

Yeah, I’ve the S8+ and it can fit perfectly in the cradle. The glitches seem to be affected more with android devices.

I'm a bit confused by some of the replies to this. My wife has recently bought a Citigo and it's a September 2016 (66 Reg) Colour edition, red with black alloy wheels, etc. But it also has the PID and NOT the phone cradle. Also no LED DRLs -  when did the facelift version arrive?

Slightly different front end, different looking fogs.

There was a minor facelift in late 2016 with the upgraded stereo and DRL's, then another facelift in early 2017 with the bonnet crease and different fog/tail lights.
