Kessy stops working after leaving car for a few days

Featured Replies

Morning all - I have an odd issue that I have noticed recently. We are making a concerted effort to walk to work and leave the cars at home in the garage.

I've noticed if I haven't used the car for a few days that the kessy stops working and I have to use the remote to unlock the car. When I use the remote the interior lights don't illuminate either until I open the drivers door.

I haven't had a chance to scan it but the status check that you can view on the screen isn't showing any issues.

Is this a feature or is it possible that I have one of the batch of batteries with an issue?

Anyone seen this before?

Thanks

It's quite normal, mine does it after not using the car for a couple of days.

Good to know - probably tells you in the Manual - haven't had a chance to check.

Thanks.

Hi there, yes, this is how it should operate....remember reading it at some stage.

Are you sure it should stop after 2 days? My Kessy always works on Monday morning after parking on Friday night.

Im sure in the manual for my car it said some like one or two weeks.

I've had the car 4 years & I've never noticed Kessy not working even when returning from a Holiday.

I will let you know next week if mine is working after a longer time because I've wont have used my car for the last 2.5 weeks.

Like I said mine ceases to be keyless usually after a couple of days, definitely after a week.

mine's never had the issue, even after going away on holiday for 3 weeks!

Maybe change the key fob battery as a test?

I’ve been met this too.

Haven’t noted the timescale in each case, but certainly after a “few days” sitting still, the key has to come out of the pocket.

More like the car battery than the fob battery. The BCM shuts down non-essential services as the car battery voltage drops. KESSY is one of them.

Once I got round to binning the P.O.S. Moll EFB fitted from new that all but died on its third winter, replaced with a proper Varta AGM it went from ditching KESSY after a day or so to going weeks.

Stop start began to work again also (unfortunately)

I started my car this morning & Kessy worked fine after 17 days sat on the driverway.

Gabbo, did you press the button on the remote to unlock it? Starting would be fine, it's the door handle touch unlock that basically goes into 'sleep' mode..
