heater blower breaking resistor packs

Featured Replies

Hi all

61 plate, Fabia VRS

Year ago, fan packed up and only worked on position 4, resistor pack replaced, then 9 months later, pack blew again, Skoda garage now suspect fan taking out resistors and gave part number of 6R2819015 but looking up on virtually every website it reports it as 6Q2819015 - can't find any references to the difference or whether they are interchangeable. Skoda want £200 for new plus another £240 to fit then add the dreaded on it comes to just shy of £500. Ebay have loads of both types for about £30, but I do not know which to get.

Can anyone help and explain the R and Q difference?

Thanks

From what I can see you need

6Q2819015J

Most of the VAG cars all use same part, I think they just gave you incorrect info regarding the "R" as that refers to Polo, but still same part "unless" their upto date IPC has "combined" all the part numbers for models no longer in production to cut down spares available, they will do this with interchangeable parts.

Heres a Polo fan, same part, same main number with "R"

heres whats listed for your vehicle...with correct full part number

Both should work, this is best website for VW,Skoda,Audi, Seat related parts:

I'd think that the part number change is just reflecting that the latest incarnation was rolled out when 6R0 was the current production first user platform.

Same as the flexi brake pipes on my old 2000 VW Passat 4Motion - its part number had changed from the Audi B5 platform number to the Skoda Superb platform number.

Thanks everyone, "Most of the VAG cars all use same part, I think they just gave you incorrect info regarding the "R" as that refers to Polo, but still same part "unless" their upto date IPC has "combined" all the part numbers for models no longer in production to cut down spares available, they will do this with interchangeable parts." was the right info.

ordered an R with resister pack and found a main dealer that can fit in an hour.

Cheers :-)
