Thank you, do you notice any vibration with this stronger mount? I've heard if one mount is uprated the others should also be as it will shake the new stronger mount to bits over time.

It's slightly more noisy (gearbox whirring noise, not vibration) than OEM, but then again, the original OEM mount was pretty far gone.

I should mention, it's probably the same as when the original mount was new aswell. I also replaced the dogbone mount with one which was intended for a 1.6 TDi (from a mk2 - the actual linkage is the same, the bracket that mounts to the engine may differ)

Ok thank you. I am wanting to change gearbox mount and dogbone as I’ve got the noises when changing gear normally when engine is warm or a warm day... also hear it on and off power, bumps in road etc. It’s a bit thumpy on and off power also, I can shake the engine around a bit too easily so I think they’re loose but not sure if it’s loosened the engine mount, seems more looser on gearbox side. Hoping it’s not a hard job, doesn’t look it.

The dogbone mount is a fairly easy job, you migh need someone to rock the engine back/forth to locate the bolts depending on how it rests, but i got mine in fine on my own. Cant remember what the bolt sizes were though.

For the gearbox mount, make sure you have something to prop up the engine from underneath (maybe lift the corner slightly then lower the gearbox sump onto an axle stand - put a block of wood to protect it), dont prop it up too much or itll make it hard to work on and you could damage something, take out the battery and battery-box to get clear access (the battery-box mounts to the top of the gearbox mount). You may need to alter the amount of lift the axle stand provides to get it in easily, but its fairly easy to remove the old one, as its quite a bit more flexible.

Thank you for the help, I will give it a try when the weather gets better :)
