Air Conditioning "Power" increase?

Featured Replies

I've read on here that some Karoq owners have increased the air conditioning power in the software. Does this make the cabin cooler in hot weather? My Climatronic dial goes down to 16 degrees and then "Lo" but last summer I never felt it got as cool than my previous Fabia. Does the software tweak make the interior temperature colder or just increase the speed of the fan?

I would agree with the poorer cooling capability.

I changed from a 2006 Octavia last July and the Karoq just doesn't get as cold.

I set the Octavia climate control to 18°c and there is stayed summer & winter for the 11 years I owned it.

Setting the Karoq to 18°c and it felt too warm for my comfort.

If you press the menu button on the climatronic Control unit you can then choose the power in auto operation.

You get the choice of moderate, medium or intensive.

My Kodiaq was delivered set to moderate. Can’t remember if it’s on medium or intensive now, but it certainly heatscools much better. Mine set to 20-21 deg  Auto 24/7 365.

18°c all year round!?

Our Kodiaq is currently set to 28°c and that's only warm enough when the heated seats are on at the same time :D

Yep, 18°c all year round, if it's really chilly in the morning I sometimes up it to 20°c

Mine came set to the middle setting also.

I find it just doesn't get as cool regardless if fan speed.

It's all about emissions.

Powerful A/C systems consume more energy, which uses more fuel which result in higher emissions.

Dialling down the A/C's performance is an easy way to hit those strict emission / WLTP targets.

I find that the Karoq isn't as warm as my old Octy, I used to have that on 18°c to 20°c  most of the time, however my Karoq is constantly on around  22°c  !
