Mk3 octavia vrs tsi injector stuck open !

Featured Replies

Hello all!

Really need some strong Advice peeps. Had the worse day today. :(

So left for work early morning and car was fine for 2 miles, then shortly after the epc light come on. didn't lose all the power but if I took my foot of the gas the car would really struggle to hold its revs. Eventually made it to work, but after I arrived I decided to start my car again to see if epc light had gone.

This is when the problems really started. The car took ages to turn over and had to really rev it to stop it stalling. Loads of smoke from the exhaust which smelt like unburnt fuel. Had no choice so I had to call the AA out which they did. After some investigation the guy from AA pined it down too being an injector staying open, (hence the smell of burning fuel I quess) he couldn't fix it there an then so had too drive the car to a local garage, which was an event in itself with the car running on 3 cylinders trust me lol

The garage called me after some investigation and confirmed it was cylinder 3 injector staying open which was literatly just letting fuel flow through the cylinder and exhaust. Repair cost is going to cost £352 to install new injector :( anyways what I'm getting at is can a dtuk tuning box cause the injector to fail? Car has only done 60k miles which surely is low for something like this??? Just want some advice really as I am really loosing confidence with this box.

Many thanks and sorry for the essay

I thought box-es are easily removed? If so, why don't you try this first?

The problem already occurred! And car is in garage now. Was just wondering if the box could have caused the problem. Removing the box would not have fixed it

I don't think so, if injector is broken physically, worn out or whatever. They do fail sometimes.

Was hoping that box was maybe confusing the injector operation, so removing it might bring things back to normal. Was worth trying before going to garage...

I must admit I did remove the box in a bit of a panic, but didn't make a difference. Fingers crossed all gets sorted
