I was then told that as their internet was playing up they were unable to update it and given the link you mentioned.

If it was the Skoda Update Portal they should have known the Amundsen + cannot be updated from there.
Only the Amundsen II post October 2014 has free internet download update.

Or abandon it and use google maps, or even better a TomTom. Much cheaper and probably better.   I only use my later system as it was standard to the car and gets free updates, but even this

If you were closer to Bristol I would take you up on that offer.

The sales department said I could do it myself from the Skoda website. When I went in yesterday to have it done after telling them that the website referred me back to the dealer, I was advised that it is updated via CD.

I’ve  had a lot of incorrect information given to me by the dealer over this and also other issues. I’ve had nothing but good advice from here though and thank those who have helped.

Hi

I was quoted £150.00 from skoda to up date the sat nav which is via SD card I have just updated it western Europe v9 for £34.99 from latestsatnav. When it arrived it was an original VW card. I wanted the latest v10 card but the company asked me what the software number was and asked me to send a pic of the screen and was told that v10 would not work as my software is not the latest 0520 mine is 0410. The thing is My yeti has just been serviced by a Skoda dealer and was told the software version is up to date!!.

it probably is for skoda. VW brand has to be seen as more upmarket?

Yes it works fine the LatestSatNav’s people were very good in giving me the advice regards v9 versus v10 just need to ask the service department why the car doesn’t have the latest software version!

Because the unit you have is an earlier software base suitable for the actual hardware of the unit. If the later software isn't supported by your hardware then you can't update it. It's not just a matter of telling them to update it, it's something which needs the correct hardware initially to be able to do so.

Square peg. - round hole.

Ah that will explain it, thanks for that!

Dealer has given me a call and have card in to update my sat nav. They stated it will take seconds as it is just a case of plugging in the card and that’s it!

Not enspired with confidence!

By the sound of things they think you have an MIB2 Amundsen 2 unit which does indeed just need the card inserting (and left there).

On the other hand, an Amundsen + unit update is simply insert the card, when asked if you want to assign the card select "Yes", then when asked if you want to copy the contents of the card to the unit then select "Yes". Then leave the card in until it's copied (maybe an hour or so) and you can then remove it. So that might be all they mean as the initial setting up of the update and copy process takes but a few seconds. The actual copying takes the time.

Let us know what happens.

From the picture he posted earlier in the thread he has an Amundsen + unit.

Someone else said they had a 2017 Yeti.

So took my Yeti to dealer for the satnav update. Parts/service manager had a look in the glove box to put the card in before stating that he had unfortunately ordered the incorrect item as the update should be on a CD for my unit. CD will now be ordered and I’ll have to take it down again.

Not at all inspired with confidence by the dealer.

And the cd will not work either. Because the Amundsen + unit doesn't use a cd to update. It uses an SD card which he doesn't seem to understand.

Good grief. What am I letting myself in for. If they can’t get the basics right, I hate to think what will happen when I get my Yeti serviced. Just emailed the Dealer and Skoda customer services.

Dealer has since phoned and advised that the parts/service manager was “having a blonde moment” and the dealership are very understaffed. Memory card will be delivered to me tomorrow for me to update. I asked when my Yeti is due for its service will I be sent a box of parts to fit/replace myself!

Bravo!!!

I’ve now had the Navagation SD card sent to me by the dealer. They have advised it is the latest version. However on the packaging it says Europe West CW 45/2016. Does 2016 mean it is a 2016 version ie 2 years out of date?

Yes, I suspect if you want the latest it will come at an inflated price.

Hi

I posted a few days ago on this. I have just updated mine to version 9 Western Europe the latest version is v10 but the sat nav company advised that the software version wasn’t up to date ie v05 mine is v04 although Skoda dealer thought it was! V9 it v10 are the same price £34.99

Eventually I have received the latest sat nav update for my Yeti (CW 45/2018).

After putting the SD card into the slot and waiting 120 minutes the maps have certainly been update. However, the radio will switch off intermittently which it didn’t do before the update.

i have spoken to the dealer today concerning this and they state that they are not aware of any other instances of this happening but have said they will have my Yeti in to run some tests.

Anyone else had this issue and if so, what did you do to rectify it?

There are ebay sellers doing cloned cards for £30 or so, but given the issues with maps updates making the unit reboot every few minutes I'd let the dealers do it this time, then if it goes wrong they can sort it out for you. There's a few different maps versions, V9 is the latest stable version, and V10 - V11 are available but will probably make the unit unstable and will then need reverting to a working version (V9). You might warn them of this before they go ahead, or you might just like to sit back and watch.

This was the first answer I gave when you asked the question back inFebruary...

Hi

I did mention this to the main dealer at the time and they were not aware of it then. The SD card came from the main dealer which was Blade.

I am not at all impressed with Blade as they have given incorrect and inaccurate information since being the current owner of my Yeti.

Is there a way to take the version I have off? Like doing a rollback to a previous Windows version?

Yes, you need a card with v9 maps on it, and insert it .
