After days of deliberation I have used my " Get out clause " and cancelled my order for a 245 Challenge Edition. I have been pondering for days about the possible import tax if there's a no deal Brexit. Will there won't there be a deal, who knows, I haven't got a crystal ball and neither has Mrs May.  10 or 20% import tax would raise the price off the car between £3000 to £6000+ and I wasn't prepared to take the risk. So, after thinking the worst, even factory orders delivered after 29th March would have the tax included and it's the customer who will have to pay it. If the tax isn't introduced I'll miss out, if it is applied I've saved a load of money

 

So........................Sat in the Dealers showroom there is a 245 Vrs Manual with a few extras:-

 

Spare Wheel

VRS Upholstery with Red seams

Keyless entry and stop start 

Electric Sunroof

Heated Multifunction Steering wheel

Heated seats

CANTON Sound system

Front and rear parking Sensors

Virtual Cockpit

Front assist

It sits on Anthracite 18" Gemini's and is painted using the Last tin of Meteor Grey Primer ( I've come to my senses over Rallye Green  )  No black Spoiler. YET......................Watch this space. 

 

Mrs G's CitiGo and the 230 is going.  Picking up next Friday 1st March 2019.

Massive downgrade a manual gearbox, hope you can live with it as changing new cars is an enormous depreciation loss, could easily equate to 10 or even 20% import tax.

 

Afraid that one is a case of, outta the frying pan & into the fire.

 

Surely you can find a ex-demo DSG some Fn where

Yes, they will try to pass it on, but if you don't want to pay it then you have the right to cancel and get your deposit back.

My 230 is a Manual.  Nice to take it to the red line, when up to temperature of course
