Dog crates/guards

Featured Replies

Hi

I have the vRS estate on order and, apparently, en-route to the dealer.  The main reason for getting the estate though is to be able to carry our two dogs.  In an ideal world I think I would like a cage/crate type arrangement but a guard and suitable boot liner etc may do it.  Just wondering what anybody else has done and/or what products they have found and/or would recommend.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

we have a brilliant dog crate by ferplast, you can even split it for two separate dog compartments.

Thanks for this.  It does look good and I would really want to split it so it may be ideal so long as one side is big enough for the larger dog.  I'll have a look through their website.  Cheers

its a 100L box, we have the 80L and its large enough for two border terriers, stretches the width of the rear of a kia carens. really good quality and doesnt rattle when your driving which the metal cage used to do and drove me insane.

Boot Buddy for the boot liner and many good cages available, Barjo, Guardsman and MMG (all weldmesh construction, made to measure if required). The cage shown above and K9 Transit cages and others are all good , just depends how much you are willing to spend, have had a cage in my cars since 1981, wouldn't be without one when transporting dogs.

Thanks very much for all the input, I've looked some up and they look great  Not sure my staffies are going to be too pleased when they realise I'm chopping them in for a couple of Border Terriers though!  :D

I have a 12 year old Border Terrier- lovely dog, I refer to her as my 3rd daughter....she gets lost in the back of the VRS...

My postman has a BT, he lets both dogs into the van and has treats ready when he comes. :D

Used to date a girl who had a Border Terrier, miss it more than i do her :)

You guys pluck them yourselves or get groomers to do it ? It's a sore fingers job.

Not wishing to distract from the Border Terrier thread  but just to say that I have now purchased the Versaliner etc from BootBuddy and the Guardsman Boot Divider and Dog Guard.  Just waiting for the car now!  :D

Thanks for all the input.
