So picked up my new SIII Sportline+ in meteor grey with the supernova wheels today, it has replaced my SIII SEL Manual.

 

Now I never have had an auto gearbox let alone dsg and flappy paddles.

 

But jesus is it smooth and does it pull oh yes it does not that I have opened her up yet.

 

The virtual cockpit looks awesome and whole car feels much better than my 2016 model.  

 

Smiley faces all round from me.

Ride is a little more harsh on the 19s but still holds the road well,

 

The VC is an option sportline+

For that very reason I had the dealer swap over some 18" wheels from a floor model. Makes a big difference going 19" ( Pirelli ) to 18" ( Continental ). The car is quieter, less jittery and nervous about what direction it wants to go. Handling is the same at anything under 9/10ths. 18" tyres will also be a lot cheaper down the track.

Wonderful thanks for the info.. 18inch are the safer choice i suppose.. I have them on my mk 2.. just love the look of those sportline plus ones! : )

I have reservations about the DSG. I swapped from a 6 speed manual Superb II L&K to a 6 speed DSG Sportline, both 2.0tdi. Whilst I agree it is totally smooth on the motorway it does have a bit of lag in the lower gears when accelerating up hills regardless of which mode it’s in. 

 

Maybe its set wrong somewhere but I can’t find it and don’t get me started on the over eager stop start
