Old Skoda friendly garages

Featured Replies

I was wondering about a list of 'Skoda friendly' garages in the UK that have experience with these cars or who have done good work on yours - say things like fitting a clutch, repair an engine etc. They need a certain 'touch' and that is missing most places.

I do most of my own work but some jobs I just don't have the tools or space to do them and I am more than happy to pay for someones expertise and time. Also I have a lower back problem which prevents me 'manhandling' items as I would like to.

I really do worry what would happen if a problem occurred that I was not up to doing.

If you have any recommendations please do post. I'm in the south of the UK (Herts/Beds/Cambs area) - but all input welcome.

I use Unit 18 Automotive in Milton Keynes for servicing/repairs for my wife's 2007 Fabia vRS.

Thanks. I did ask them last time I was over about if they did the older Skodas, but sadly they didn't - but that was a while ago and they may now be doing them. I'll ask again next time I am over - add it to the list if so.

I can't recommend a specific name, but I find that "local garages" with older real C&G mechanics tend to be more old car friendly than main stealers.

Howard Motors in Preston, Lancs.  Husband and wife team and really good work by a former Skoda engineer who is enthusiastic and knows all about Estelles.  Brilliant service, very highly recommended   Worth transporting your car to I think.  Neil
