this is strange! my same car (63plate) would have rear wiper come on while reverse gear is engaged. But this one (16plate) doesn't come on all the time. could some one tell me if it is normal. Or it should have come on as soon as I engage the gear in reverse?

Point to be noted, my front wiper is in auto mode. it was always in auto mode in my previous car too.

`If you look in the Car > Settings > Wipers there should be a couple of boxes, One of them is " Rear Auto " ( or similar wording ) think it needs a tick in the box. I believe the rear wiper only wipes if there front wipers are cleaning the screen

When you get a used car you can always go into the menu and do 'Factory Settings'.

Not that this guarantees the car is back to how it left the factory or was set at a PDI as people can make changes they want with various 'tools'.

Often people ask on forums what changes they can do with VCDS / OBD2 / Carista etc.

in wiper setting, there are two options available. automatic front wiper and also automatic rear wiper. unlike previous car it says wipe on reverse gear.

You need to select Automatic Reverse Selection Engagement Wipe.  

that's selected undoubtedly.

does your rear wiper come on when you engage the gear for reverse?

Isnt this only on estate?

Mine is hatchback.

     Only if the front wipers are working and in the Auto position.  

Really!!! then mine should be the same. I think Skoda changed their rear wiper setting..2013 was working with reverse gear engaged. thats proven, because i had that car. does anyone really know in which sequence rear wiper comes on in auto mode?
