Random Rattle noise in Idle

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am proud owner of Octavia III Estate 5E5 1.6 TDI 66KW from 2015. The car have around 102000 km so far and I am facing a random rattle noise on idle after driving more than 300-400 km. If I press the clutch pedal the sound is gone and most of the times will not appear again.

My car have SMF and the clutch was replaced recently with  SACHS 3000 970 069 XTend . After the replacement of the clutch set the noise is appearing even more often and now I need to press the clutch pedal multiple times to make the noise go away.

Some advise?

Thanks!

It could be the clutch relese bearing

The clutch release bearing was replaced together with the clutch 2-3 weeks ago and the problem still persist. Now is even more often after the replacement.

Gearbox input shaft front bearing, chatter due to SMF, should be dual mass flywheel.

I had this problem woth my 2.0l vrs diesel.  Turned out it was an air con pipe rattling if the car body. Have a look on the left hand side of engine bay . I packed a bit of foam behind it and all is well now.
