Cheers Penguin!

But seriously if that's what all the fuss was about... :shake:

Jealousy is a cruel mistress :D

In real life, the only thing your missing out on (without the valved exhaust) is a slightly deeper exhaust-sound when idling... I have never been able to tell if the valves are open or closed when driving.

However, the difference in valve position is probably more noticeable with a resonator delete or with a aftermarket system with valve function.

I find they make a huge difference on all throttle settings. On idle they make a deep resonating rumble that vibrates the very soul of the listener. Moving slightly left and right of your chosen tailpipe adds a sense  of whats to come and injects a fluttering bassline.

Upping the tempo we go out for a drive and unleash the mighty power of the 280 ( sorry 270 owners ). The 4 pipes and 2 valves spring to life with dynamic shifts that takes the breath away easily surpassing lesser 2 pipe valve less systems.

Pressing the throttle more hammers home the strong intent of the exhaust  adding confidence and inspiring the driver to press on pass his valve less brethren !

Tbh, I don't think I hear the difference but now you said it, yes at idle it does seem a bit rumbly. Brumbrumbrum :)

On big throttle, I am too busy processing the fast moving scenery to pay attention. Lol

Exactly!

Valves or not, the 4-cyl is not ever going to sound anywhere near that thing, even with the best aftermarket exhaust on.

On the upside though, a white SLK 55 presumably wanted to impress me (or scare me? ) the first night I took mine out for a JB4 test, and failed miserably within less than 50m already... so you can say that at least you get something back for that muted, turbocharged engine sound :tongueout:

Our 4-pot wouldn't sound anything like that with all the valves in the world :D
