rear wash wipe not working and plastic boot trim removal

Featured Replies

Hi my rear wash wipe not working and I think the hose going to the wiper has come lose somewhere under the plastic boot trim panel on the inside off the hatch.

Any tips on how to get the boot trim panel on/off and the best way to reconnect the water hose?

Also I'm getting a rattle form the rear off the car, any ideas on what it could be I've checked the spare wheel and rear seats

Thanks

John

ps it's a 5 door hachback

Try using Search. There is plenty of info here on where the leak is likely to be, how to get at it, and how to fix it.

same happened to my vrs a few weeks ago .. took 5 mins to sort it. climbed in the boot and removed the carpet from the rhs - undid the screw plugs under the rear speakers and further down towards the boot opening.. this gave me enough slack to pull the carpet down and the disconnected pipe was easily recognisable. stuck it together and wound a big wad of leccy tape round it! dont use the washer until you sort it tho - or you'll get a nice wet boot!

Hi John,

I've had the rear wash wipe problem as well, the dealer put it right for me but not before it leaked and damaged my boot light :-(

As for the rattle, does it happen when going over bumps in the road or all the time? If it is the former you might have the same problem as myself and a number of other members with the centre mounting for the exhaust snapping. The below thread tells you all about it and includes pictures and details on how to fix it yourself as I did.

I have the rear was wipe problem on my occy Vrs i had a quick read on the forums of roughly where the pipe comes apart and it then took me about 30secs to fix, if you look at the rear n/s of the boot under the speaker, the carpet that forms the sidewall take off clip and you will see the black pipe has come apart there, push back together a bit of tape round and away you go.
