Errors our of nowhere ? Stop-start, cruise control etc

Featured Replies

Hi guys.
I was just driving today and sudently bunchof errors came up.
I was driving like 30 miles and hour and not using cruise control etc.
Then I had these errors coming up- Intermittent Cruise Control Error(orange icon with exclamation mark) , stop start error and some more ...out of the blue. I pulled over, turned the car on and off, all good after that.

Any ideas ?
I had timing belt and tensioner changed recently and rear window heater....maybe after those works they didnt plug something correctly ?

Thanks

No point guessing, get it checked out either at the dealers or by someone with VCDS

Well I went there and I'm certain that it would show error if scanned through OBD2 port.... and while I was there for warranty work(other stuff) I asked them to check it, and they said then...no errors found. Im like ..really ?>?????? Thats not possible

I'm quite certain they never checked it as first when they come they never mentioned anything and then ...when I asked about it they were like "oh...hmm....ehmmm..I need to go and ask".

There is no chance that it wouldnt show errors right when they scan it for errors ?

Another question, is it ok to scan it by using OBD11, will it not void warranty or something ?

Thanks

Battery on the way out?

I would say get a scan, but do keep an open mind to a dying battery as weird stuff starts to happen when they’re on the way out.

Or maybe even loose battery terminals. The car will flick up a lot of errors as part of its reset process on the first startup cycle after you disconnect the battery

Have you changed the brake pads or anything? I fitted lowering springs on my son's Fabia 3, inadvertently disconnected the speed sensor on the nearside and for these errors.

This sounds like what happened to mine when the alternator stopped charging one night; lots of errors and warning lights, and the lights went off when the alternator started up again by itself. The garage reported cancelling down lots of error messages with no obvious fault attached to them during an oil/inspection service several weeks later.

Hmmm that is all weird. No no pads change or anything. The bar is from 2016 so not even 3 years old so I hope its not the battery as well. Its just very weird. Like I said all was fine, th car started fine. I was on my way to work and then those errors came. Since them all is fine ..no errors...

Agree with this. Is it a MOLL battery?

Cant say atm, but will check tomorrow :)

You really think the battery could cause that ? What other signs of "dying battery" should I see ?

It is possible the TPI says that various fault messages can be displayed when battery is on the way out.

Could just be a missing data bus message, slight glitch in system

The dealers have a diagnostic tool for batteries that will tell if the battery is defective or not.  Provided you don’t have any non standard installations it should be a straight forward warranty job if the battery is defective.

So guys that time when it happened, I took some screenshots of obd11 with those error messages so I will show you tomorrow probably if I have time. Since that time , so in like 8 months, it has happened 3-4 times.

You get bunch of errors from everywhere, engine, transmistion, etc etc at the same time. I will post the screens soon :)
