Info display on Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

Now I have my new Fabia VRS I have been reading the manual and wonder which Fabia has the Information display on the panel between the Rev counter and Speedo? I've tried pressing the rocker switch but nothing happens, only the info on the bottom of the left hand dial changes.

As far as I knoiw, in the UK only cars with the built-in Skoda satnav use the instrument panel display.

Yep Maxidot is only used on cars fitted with the sat nav :D

Chris

Is there any reason a maxi-dot dash pod wouldn't be fully functional without the satnav installed?

Yes - there is nothing to drive it IIRC :)

Surely someone will take the plunge one of these days and try it. My other main problem would be the aftermarket H/U.

My money's on Jason

Nah , thats adding weight to the car so not an option

Won't the pretty little warning lights come up in the MFD display? Surely the satnav isn't needed to tell me I'm low on washer fluid.

Or whether your low on fuel

IIRC he has a spare laptop screen looking for a new use. :)

An after market navigation display will work just fine without Satnav.

You'll have a display of the car on the dash, and when you open a door it will tell you which one, the display caters for each door, same goes for the boot. You'll also get the outside temp permanately on display along with another MFA display of your choice, MPG, AVS for example.

You could even hook up your Symphony to it via an iso block cable to display CD track/RDS info. The usual low fluid washer, low fuel will display as maxidot symbols.

Would it work with just an aftermarket H/U though? e.g. my Pioneer DEH-77MP, obviously it won't have any Navigation features

Nice one, I may well get a dashpod one day when I'm feeling flush.:thumbup:

I thought this but then

So will it work with an aftermarket H/U?

I think that means "YES" Hellfire.

Group buy anyone?

1) HellFire :D

2) Tom :D:D

Do Skoda do Group Buys? Mike/Adrian - can you look into this please. :)

3) HellFire again :D:D:D

Hold on lad's there's an output on the VW Gamma radio's for MFD radio display, the same can be said of the Symphony as this also supports the additional iso block. An aftermarket unit would not work with the MFD.

I agree though that a full MFD would look good but there are plenty of other more useful add on's you could go for if you are after cosmetics.

Sun Glasses holder - I have one on mine painted black to match the headlining

Chrome dial surrounds - again I have them on mine :)

W8 light console (sprayed to match)

Centre armrest (OEM or aftermarket)

All these would come in at under

W8 light console (sprayed to match)

A well invested

Whats the big difference, a light is a light or is it in the rear?

chrome dial surrounds do sound good though as they would lighten up the dashboard, any pics?

Its a light in the front (repleces existing unit), just bathes the gear stick and surrounding area in a nice red light ala Audi/upmarket VW models, just adds that little extra to the interior when driving in the dark - all down to taste I supose.

Attached link gives a better idea (plus other numerous potential mods);
