Don't use poly dog-bone mount bushes...

Featured Replies

Some great advice here, and many thanks to the OP.

Also got the EA111 1.2 TSI CBZB, and trying to cure very bad wheel hop on the nearside / passenger side wheel.

Makes an awful knock / clunk,  when moving off and changing up from 1st to 2nd.  [It's not suspension related]

So, as above purchased the OE VW parts / LEMFÖRDER :

LEMFÖRDER Transmission / Gearbox Mount  29978 01

aka.

VW 6Q0199555AS

LEMFÖRDER Dog-Bone / Pendulum Mount Engine Mount (Rear)  36324 01

aka.

VW 6Q0199851AP

..both of which appear to be more uprated mounts designed for larger engine types.

Question is.

-Can someone confirm the Torque Specs for the mount bolts please?

Sorry to revive a thread, but I've been considering purchasing a Vibra-technics mount for my 1.2TSI CJZD and 02U Cross Polo. Asked on another VW group, but couldn't find an answer to my question.

Mine is fitted with a 6Q0199851AS dogbone and the 6Q0199555AR gearbox mount.

ETKA states the "AS" dogbone is needed for the CJZD and 02U 6-speed combination.

Vibra-technics list supported dogbone part numbers, but the 6Q0199851AS is not amongst these. I have contacted them, but no reply as yet.

I just want to know if there's actually a difference in dimensions for the "AS" and the rest of the dogbones.

I wound up here due to the "AS" and "AP" being listed as a swap. AP is listed by Vibra-technics.

I suspect Vibra-technics list the supported part numbers based on client's cars they dealt with so far.

So they all the same dimenions and a direct swap?

I'm just tired of the engine playing flappy bird in the bay.

you'll have to swap over the bracket that joins the dogbone to the gearbox end,  .. taken from your existing dogbone.. as they're slightly different lengths:

Old Bracket swapped over onto New Dogbone:

Fitted. and together with uprated:

... the nearside / passenger side wheel hop has completely disappeared 👍

..and definitely can't move the engine about with your hand .. like I could before..

If it's just the bracket differentiating the part numbers, then that's a win and the Vibra-technics will fit.

Thank you!

I think that I reported years ago that VW replaced the AR top gearbox mounting for an AS FOC within warranty because I kept complaining about something like "drive line shunt" after the first service from new, they did remove the original AR mounting and cover/smother it in copper grease first time round, I think that originally was VW's cunning "fix" to get applied during warranty, that did work - for almost a week!

I'll save the info about the stiffer lower link for the future - thanks!

Ive ordered some 2 part liquid polyurethane to make a hybrid rubber and polyurethane bush. Im going to fill the gaps between the rubber with polyurethane like an insert. Im hoping this will be a good balance and wont be too hard. Ill report back next week once its arrived.
